The New River Valley Horse Association, established in 2003, was created for the sole purpose of promoting the care of, raising awareness of, and maintaining respect for this noble animal. The collective passion of our membership, along with our cooperative efforts, are guided by the creed of good sportsmanship and continuing education for our members, the public, and those involved in all aspects of the horse industry.

         The association was formerly known as The Southwest Virginia Racking and Pleasure Horse Association, and more recently The Southwest Virginia Horsemen's Association. Our recent name change will eliminate any confusion with similarly named organizations while strongly connecting it to our local New River Valley roots.
